Following almost 2.5 inches of rain on Monday, Streetscape crews were back hard at work Tuesday. North of Cabarrus the fence was moved up to Killarney (Killarney/Union will remain open for now) and crews started demolition on the roadway in preparation for water line installation which began today.
Conduit and soil cell crews were also working north of Cabarrus Avenue on the west side of Union Street.
South of Cabarrus, brick paving crews worked on finishing up the remaining brick paver bands and herringbone pattern installations at the crosswalks. This completes the surface work south of Cabarrus.
Next week, crews will continue working on the water line, conduit, and soil cell installations north of Cabarrus. Electrical crews will also begin installing light poles south of Cabarrus toward the end of the week.
