Downtown Concord continues to offer new opportunities for people looking to live, shop, or work. This website will keep our community updated on revitalizing public and private development activity. You’ll also find information on existing and new businesses downtown. The City’s streetscape project will replace aging utility infrastructure and improve pedestrian walkability, recreation, and outdoor dining opportunities. Lansing Melbourne Group’s Novi mixed-use projects represent an estimated $70 million of private investment in downtown Concord and will add new market-rate and workforce apartments, commercial retail space, and a rooftop restaurant to the heart of downtown. Explore this website to learn more about these and other changes that are underway or coming soon.

  • The Annex

    66 Union St. S

The former City Hall Annex located at 66 Union St. S is undergoing a modern and state-of-the-art renovation by RCG SE, LLC. The City sold the building to RCG after City offices relocated to the new City Hall.

The City recently opened a non-profit center on the lowest level of the building with only 1 out  of 10 office spaces remaining available. The main and second levels are for lease by RCG and will offer customizable retail, restaurant, and office space perfectly positioned at the heart of Concord.

  • Cabarrus Courthouse Expansion

    Church St. / 77 Union St. S

Physical construction on the 250,000-square-foot Cabarrus Courthouse expansion/renovation began in 2020, and officials expect the entire project to last about five years. Plans include the relocation of the courthouse entrance to a pedestrian plaza built on the former Means Avenue. This will allow for better access from Church and Union streets. The project will update the nearly 50-year-old building and help with a continued increase in court traffic.
