This week, Downtown Streetscape crews completed all water service and tie-in work. There is one remaining water fountain connection to complete at which point ALL water, sewer, and stormwater work will be complete for the project!
Electric crews installed conduit on the east side of Union St N and started installing festoon and light poles south of Cabarrus Ave.
Sidewalk crews installed 500 feet of decorative fence on Union St S. Some finishing touches, like top caps and bases, will be added next week. Crews also installed the first 5 feet of sidewalk, working up to Killarney on the west side. They will continue grading tomorrow and plan on pouring concrete on Monday.
