This week Streetscape Crews continued installing the main water line on Union St working towards Cabarrus Ave. Weather dependent, they anticipate reaching Cabarrus Ave next week with the main 16″ water line. Crews also continued to work on the north side of Barbrick Ave sidewalk, forming the brick paver bands and pouring concrete.

On Barbrick Ave near the Parking Deck, Crews started installing a granite stormwater feature. This feature reuses granite curbs that were remaining on Union St and others the City had stored from different projects. Small bands of this granite curbing will also flank the new Courthouse Plaza connection on Union Street.

Finally, Crews made progress on installing the stairs that are near the Cabarrus Center and will provide pedestrian access at one of the three drop-off zones.
