This week, our Streetscape crews finished testing the new 16″ water main from the Midblock Crosswalk to Cabarrus Avenue. They’ve also been hard at work pouring the concrete and laying the pavers at the corner of Barbrick Avenue and Union Street.

Next, crews will continue installing the soil cells along Union Street, ensuring the trees we plant have ample room for their roots to expand and grow underneath the new, wider sidewalks. They will continue working on concrete and brick pavers in the southern work zone as well.

While crews work on sidewalk improvements, infrastructure crews will continue working north of the midblock, installing new water services.
