February 14, 2025 Streetscape Update

This week, Streetscape crews completed the stamped asphalt crosswalk work throughout the work zone. They also installed the new drinking fountain near Killarney, painted fire hydrants, and worked through punch list items.

Electrical crews continue to pull electrical wire and install 144-count fiber. City crews are installing fiber terminals at the light poles and will work on the final fiber connection in the coming week.

Next week, the large compass installation is scheduled for the intersection of Cabarrus Ave. and Union St on February 18-19. This will require a road closure while crews work in this area from 9 am to 4 pm. This work depends on the weather and will be rescheduled if it rains.
