This week, Downtown Streetscape crews completed the 16″ water main installation up to the Library. They also pressure-tested the new water line and started installing water services. Water service installation will continue the next few weeks.
Curbs and the second layer of asphalt were poured at the Cabarrus Avenue intersection in preparation for the intersection opening to through traffic Friday evening!
Brick paver installation, formwork, and grading of sidewalks continued south of Cabarrus Avenue. Roadway crews also began installing stone on Union Street from the midblock towards Cabarrus Avenue. Following stone installation crews will pour curbs between the midblock and Cabarrus.
