This week, south of Cabarrus Avenue, sidewalk crews were hard at work installing more sidewalks, retaining walls, and seat walls on the east side of Union St. They also installed light bases and started grading for new curbs.
Grading continued through the Cabarrus Avenue intersection and the first 5″ asphalt pour is scheduled today.
North of Cabarrus Avenue infrastructure crews installed the new sewer main and are scheduled to complete the lateral connections today. Next week, infrastructure crews will continue working on the water line starting at Cabarrus and moving north toward the Library. There may be some additional fence movement but Library access will be open.
