Our favorite fall-inspired treats and drinks

“Trick-or- Treat” or “Trick-or-Drink”? – Why not both?! We’ve compiled some of our favorite downtown fall-inspired treats and drinks this season!

Fall doesn’t have to mean pumpkin spice latte. Check out Press & Porter’s fall line-up to level up your latte game.

Latte Flavors:
Maple cinnamon
Carmel apple cider
Pumpkin pie

A holiday staple at Cabo Winery is their Mistletoe Red. A special blend of Merlot (Ruggiero’s Walk), apples, cranberries and various spices, it’s Christmas in a bottle when served warmed. The demand for Mistletoe Red is so great, they begin batching in late summer; so, grab it while you can!

More of a beer drinker? Bottle & Can & Lil’ Robert’s Place have a variety of taps and bottles on rotation including seasonal releases by local and regional breweries. Straight from the brewhouse, Red Hill Brewing has weekly beer releases including their Pumpkin Dolemite on tap now while it lasts!

Looking for a specialty drink sans alcohol? The Eat Well Market has a variety of non-alcoholic beverages to ring in the season including Töst Rosé. You can literally rosé all day with this sparking white tea, ginger & elderberry concoction.

Also offering good energy, local coffee and craft beer, our friends at Mac Tabby Cat Café. Part café, part Cat Lounge, socialize or relax in this duo atmosphere with or without some furry friends to fall in love with this season!

The holiday season means lots of holiday food prep, or does it? From your favorite secret ingredients to some easy grab-and-go’s, the Union Street Market has a variety of locally sourced goodies this season. Grab a Dolci di Maria cake for the gluten free, dairy free, and/or vegans in your life! There is something for everyone at this downtown market!

One of our favorite pastimes during the holidays is window shopping, but not in the traditional sense. Each year, our Chocolatier Barrucand and The Sweet Life bakery outdo themselves from the year before with their holiday inspired treats. Delicious both in taste and presentation, grab the perfect treat for yourself or someone else this season.

Speaking of treats, the Cabarrus Creamery always has an array of tasty flavors on rotation. But ice cream isn’t just for summer, stop by and try their seasonal Apple Pie available now! Also, be sure to keep an eye out for Pumpkin that will drop at the beginning of October!

Last but not least, something for our cocktail lovers. Check out these local faves with specialty treats and drinks on rotation. Kodiak Bar & Lounge, Havana Carolina Restaurant & Bar, The Cigar Loft, Gianni’s Trattoria, The Basement Arcade Bar, 2 Gals Kitchen, & Streakers. Best of all, these hot spots are all about supporting local! We challenge you to step into any of these spots and not find them supporting another local treatery (might have made this word up) or drinkery!
