The Downtown Streetscape crew’s primary focus this past week was isolating the existing water line at Cabarrus Ave and Union St. This is necessary before they can begin installing the new waterline through the intersection working towards Killarney Ave.

This week, they completed installing additional valves on Cabarrus Ave W and Cabarrus Ave E (see images below). Next week they will work on installing a new line stop on the existing water line on Union Street N.

Infrastructure crews work ahead of the sidewalk crews who continue to grade, install formwork, and pour concrete for new sidewalks south of Cabarrus Ave.
