It’s been a cold week! But despite the weather Streetscape Crews poured sidewalks on the south side of Barbrick Avenue and started digging out and installing soil cells on Union Street! Soil cells are special support systems that hold soil and tree roots, giving root systems plenty of room to grow and expand without damaging the new sidewalks on top of them. Crews also poured the last inch and a half of the asphalt base layer on Union Street.

Next week, weather depending, crews will cut out and lift the valves and manhole covers to their final grade on Union Street.
